Trash & Recycling Service

Trash, recycling, yard waste and heavy trash in Sunset Crossing is collected by Texas Pride Disposal under contract to Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 218.

Collection is arranged by the district, not by the homeowners association. Missed collections, damaged carts and questions about what the truck will take go to Texas Pride Disposal.

Check Current Service Information

Have everything at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your service day, set next to your driveway.

Your carts

  • Put waste out next to your driveway, not behind a parked car or a mailbox.
  • Containers should hold between 20 and 96 gallons and weigh under 50 pounds when full.
  • Sturdy bags are fine instead of a cart, as long as no bag goes over 50 pounds.
  • Bring everything back in after collection.

Recycling

Collected every Saturday, on the same run as household trash.

Do not bag your recyclables. Put them loose in the recycling container. Bagged recycling gets pulled out of the load.

  • Empty containers and get the food and liquid out first.
  • Break cardboard down so it does not overfill or jam the cart.

The district does not publish its own accepted-materials list, so this page will not invent one. If you are not sure whether something is recyclable, ask Texas Pride Disposal rather than guessing.

Yard waste

Collected on the same days as trash, Wednesday and Saturday. Bundle branches and trimmings and keep each bundle under 50 pounds.

Heavy trash

Two heavy or bulk items per service day. Furniture, appliances and carpeting count.

If you have more than two items, spread them across collection days or ring Texas Pride Disposal first. Putting out six items hoping they all go is how a pile sits at the curb for a week.

What is not collected

Dirt, rocks, brick, concrete, liquid paints, fuels, oils, tires, pesticides, fertilizer, batteries.

Never hide a liquid in a bin. Paint, fuel and oil leak, stain the street and damage the truck.

Chemicals, batteries and tires

None of these go in your bins or your heavy trash. They go to the Fort Bend County Recycling Center, 1200 Blume Road, Rosenberg. Check your options and confirm what they accept, any fees, proof-of-residency rules and opening hours before you drive out.

Holidays

No collection on New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. Confirm the make-up day with Texas Pride Disposal before a holiday week rather than relying on this page.
